Who lives in the area

Much of Dublin 12 dates back to major building work in the ’50s and ’60s, as Dublin expanded, and built family and starter homes. So the population of Dublin 12 tends to be settled. 74% of homes contain families, with 58% having children. This has created a strong family and community feel across the region and a plethora of family-oriented amenities and activities.

Properties in the area tend to be more established, more than 80% of the properties were built before 2000, and over 80% are homes, and 15% apartments, which fits with the family feel of the area.

Transport links

Dublin 12 is very well served with public transport, with a wide range of bus routes running through the area. The Luas Red line runs from Tallaght to Dublin, with stops in Drimnagh, Bluebell and Blackhorse serving Dublin 12. 

Being close to the M50 also makes wider Dublin commuting easier, with junctions 10 and 11 within easy reach
